The Auctioneer: Leslie Meek (TAL 2730 - FL 2388)
Leslie Meek was 1 of 4 children born in Cardiff S.Wales UK and was educated at an all boys grammar school, and further educated in the fine arts at The Victoria & Albert museum in London UK. He worked as an antiques dealer in the UK for 30+ years, exporting European antiques & decorators’ pieces worldwide including to the USA, Australia, South Africa and all over Europe. In 1990 Mr.Meek & his family emigrated to Chattanooga Tn and opened Meek’s Antique Auctions. He hand picks items on his buying trips to Europe, and his discerning eye and intimate knowledge of design & building trends has led to his establishment of a dedicated client base that recognize his auctions as being genuine, honest & cost effective. He has been a licenced auctioneer in the states of Tennessee & Mississippi since 1990 where he holds regular monthly auctions and is also a certified personal property appraiser, recognized by CAGA ( The Certified Appraisers Guild of America) Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 daughters and 8 grandkids. He also has had a life long intrest in classic cars especially Ferrari. |
| The Restorator: Steve Poole
After a five year apprenticeship at Leech and Son’s of England in restocking and finishing guns from the worlds finest makers such as Purdy and Holland & Holland, Steve Poole moved to the United States from the UK. With the experience he gained there he soon turned his hand to Antique furniture restorations and built up his clientele working only by referral and word of mouth. For over 25 years, he has maintained his reputation for quality restorations ranging from the smallest heirloom to projects for museums and some of the South’s finest homes. All restorations are done by him and his skills range from simply restoring a finish to replacing veneer, carving and French polishing. Steve can also be contacted via the following numbers:
